Renowned Researcher

Bridget’s research has shaped the green industry’s understanding of consumer purchasing and paved the way for smarter retail strategies.

Bridget’s Primary Research

Bridget investigates consumer preferences, perceptions, and purchases of edible and ornamental horticultural crops. Key research studies with published results include the value of bee-friendly pest management strategies, plant branding, perceived value of landscaping, and the influence of age and ethnicity on American gardening purchases and participation.

Recently, Bridget has led an exciting and literally eye-opening study using eye-tracking glasses to better understand what consumers in a garden center see and ignore in ads, displays, and the overall shopping experience.
